Hello Reader,
Happy New Month.
March feels like a fresh start, doesn’t it?
And for us at Mindcapital, this month marks the beginning of something we’ve been quietly building for a while now.
We’ve been keeping something from you.
And now, we’re finally ready to share it.
For the past few years, we’ve worked closely with African founders — helping them clarify ideas, validate problems, and begin building sustainable startups.
Along the way, one thing became clear:
Founder development at scale requires deeper infrastructure, broader partnerships, and long-term ecosystem support.
That realisation led to the creation of something new.
Today, we’re excited to introduce:
TAI Foundation
TAI Foundation (Transform Africa with Innovation) is a nonprofit organisation born out of Mindcapital’s work and designed to expand founder development and innovation entrepreneurship across Africa.
While Mindcapital continues to operate as a venture platform supporting venture building and startup growth, TAI Foundation focuses on education, ecosystem development, and large-scale founder empowerment.
Together, they strengthen the pipeline of founders building impactful, sustainable businesses across the continent.
Why the TAI Foundation?
Africa is the youngest continent in the world, filled with talent, creativity, and entrepreneurial energy.
But talent alone isn’t enough.
Many aspiring founders lack:
- structured entrepreneurial education
- access to mentorship and innovation networks
- practical guidance to validate and build scalable ventures
- ecosystems that support long-term growth
TAI Foundation exists to help close these gaps.
This is because when founders have the right tools and support, they build businesses that create jobs, solve real problems, and strengthen economies.
What the TAI Foundation Will Focus On
TAI’s work will be anchored around four core pillars:
Founder Development
Expanding access to innovation entrepreneurship education through programs, platforms, and activity-based learning experiences.
Technology Incubation
Working with academia and industry to commercialise high-impact scientific research and nurture deep-tech startups that can solve some of Africa's most pressing structural challenges.
Ecosystem Development
Collaborating with universities, innovation hubs, corporates, and development partners to strengthen support systems for founders.
Policy & Innovation Advocacy
Supporting policies and initiatives that encourage science, technology, and innovation-driven enterprise creation.
What This Means for You
This new chapter allows us to:
- reach more founders across Africa
- design deeper learning and incubation experiences
- build stronger support systems around entrepreneurs
- create clearer pathways from idea → validation → venture growth
In short: more support, more access, and more opportunity.
Over the coming months, we’ll begin rolling out programs and partnerships under the TAI Foundation designed to support aspiring and early-stage founders across the continent.
This is just the beginning.
Starting in April, this newsletter will officially come to you from TAI Foundation as we continue expanding our work in founder development and innovation across Africa.
And if you’d like to be the first to know when we launch programs, partnerships, and opportunities, make sure you follow us on:
LinkedIn
We’ll be sharing updates there first.
We believe businesses are the foundation of strong economies. We believe founders are the foundation of those businesses. And we believe that investing in African innovators is investing in Africa’s future.
Thank you for being part of this journey with us.
We’re excited for what we’re building, and we’re even more excited to build it with you.
